ABOUT

'Her artistic drive is to create what she believes is real, but that is undefinable. Her need to master the scene before the image has been shot, illustrates a deep imagination, creative control and a refreshingly unique flare'.

Before I found my niche and my artistic flair in photography, I was shooting with my mobile and disposable cameras, anything and everything that I could, for the purpose of sustaining memories. My younger sister was a catalogue model, so I spent a lot of time sitting on the side watching the photographers shoot commercial and fashion work. When I was bought my first camera, I took it upon myself to start shooting my younger sister and building her portfolio from home as well as exploring set design, makeup artistry, styling and directing. After posting all of my work on social media at the age of 16, I was recognised and scouted by an agent and began preparing for my first professional commercial work. I did a campaign for Beat UK, advertising for Toni and Guy and then onto shoot for smaller independent businesses. Shortly after, I had decided to go to college to study 3D Design and then into University to study Photography to hone my knowledge in the technical field. Alongside my studies, I attended fashion shows, weddings and launch parties, and quickly found a passion for shooting events.

Why Abstract?

Abstraction has always been an interesting concept, and i found a raw form of expression when shooting the abstract. My first exposure to abstract photography was the work of Ori Gersht and his 'Blow Up' images of exploding flowers frozen in time. I found that there was a direct correlation between the way i viewed abstract photography and the way that i observed paintings. The only significant difference is that painting is non representational by nature and photography isnt. My fascination of being able to create images with light rather than paint excited me from the moment i picked up a camera, and i have always seen the image before pressing the shutter. I think that i have always viewed the world through obscure eyes and by shooting what i see, i am able to share my eyesight with others. Thats what excites me the most.
